Overview
The greatest strength of Geomysore has been its integration with the local community. Since 2014, GMSI has been addressing the immediate needs of the community with a focus on providing drinking and household water during the summer months as well as generating employment. Clean drinking water was supplied to approximately 3,000 people every day during the summers and 2 schools throughout the academic year. 40 water bore wells have been drilled by GMSI with 10 yielding water. Associated pipelines to connect into the existing distribution system have also been laid. GMSI has trained and provided employment to 50 local members of the community on the company DC and RC drilling rigs since 2014 during 2 separate drilling campaigns. GMSI has further employed another 150 members of the community for various activities within the organization such as community relations assistants, cooks, drivers, cleaners, security guards and green belt development. As well as developing initiatives and providing employment to clean up the villages, repair local roads and distribute the drinking and household water as supplied by GMSI.
